This is a very great take on normal chili! It has a sweetness to it and a little uuumph that makes it delish! My kids love this, especially when served with tortilla chips. It can also be used as a burrito filling in flour tortillas (whole wheat of course). I love versatile recipes!
Indian Summer Turkey Chili
1 tbsp. EVOO
1 pound ground turkey
2 tbsp. chili powder
1 tbsp. grill seasoning, any blend
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1/2 can or 1 cup beer, any kind
1 14oz can tomato sauce
1/4 c BBQ sauce
1 14oz can cannellini beans, drained & rinsed
1 14oz can black beans, drained & rinsed
1 14oz can chili beans, undrained
1 cup frozen corn
Heat a large pot or dutch oven over medium to medium high heat. Add EVOO and ground turkey. Season turkey with chili powder, grill seasoning, cumin, and Worcestershire sauce. Break up meat into small crumbles and cook for about 5 minutes.
Add onions and peppers and cook about another 10 minutes. Add beer to deglaze the pan and cook off alcohol. Add tomato sauce and BBQ sauce. Stir. Add beans and corn. Stir. Bring to a bubble and then simmer on low for 10-15 minutes. Serve and Enjoy!!!
Makes 8 servings about 1 cup each
